It takes place at on of the coolest Venues ever, the Oetinger Villa in Darmstadt and is organized by the kindest people around! Those guys are the nicest people and were supposed to play in Trier tomorrow! Everyone who can afford to spend a buck or two would help them alot.

Here is their explanation :

"I´m going to try and make this as short as I can. After all these years of touring in unsafe vans, and doing stupid things, I guess I was over due for this... We had a serious van accident in route from our show in Graz, Austria to Dresden, Germany, somewhere along the highway in the Czech.

I was asleep in the back of the van, so I'm unsure of what exactly happened. All I know is I felt the van skidding out and we started to slide and roll over. Not sure exactly how many times the van flipped but it was more than enough. I started screaming for everyone to tell me they were OK. Gertjan check, Ben check, Sara check, and I didnt hear Jeff.

Ben pulled me out through the windshield and I took off running, screaming for help with blood pouring down my face. I honestly though Jeff was dead. A car stopped and a slew of women started screaming at me and I was screaming at them. We were in the middle of no where and as I was running two things came to mind, I think Jeff is dead, and I hope I don´t get shot like Artimus Pyle. A woman pulled me into her house and her husband and son ran to the van crash site. I found Gertjan, and he said everyone is OK. The family started talking to me via Google Translation telling me everyone is safe and that an amublance is on the way.

The ambulance comes takes us to a hospital, we get taken care of...sort of. The police arrive on the scene and inform us that we aren´t leaving until the medical bills are paid in full. The were so kind enough to escort Sara and myself to an ATM machine to pay the entire lump of the bills in full on the spot. Even after we signed some strange papers saying we have 30 day with proof of citizenship, etc. What the fuck ever right? We asked where Gertjan was, and their respone was...prison. 300 phone calls and around €3,000 later we are out of the damned Czech and safe in Germany.

Long short, we are all somewhat OK. Jeff broke his collarbone, Ben got his hand jacked up, I am pretty alright, Gertjan is OK, as well as Sara. The van is destroyed. Booking these tours ourself really made me realize that we are 100% on our own. We had no one to call, no one to "rescue" us. I made 3 phone calles and the entire German punk scene came to our rescue. God damn thank you. Our new friends from Dresden Germany came to get us at the drop of a hat, no questions asked. Thank you.

So here it is, we are 3 grown adult males in our 30´s who play in a punk band. We are all stage hands at R5 Productions in Philly. That´s what we do to enable us to be here in Europe doing this. Back from the Tour with the MNMNTS

I just came back from the most amazing ten days ever with the lovely MNMNTS. Not only was I able to catch up with so many old friends - I met a bunch of amazing people, which I allready miss! First of all Jonas, the most humble guy in the world, who jumped in for Seb, who couldn't join the tour. Without him, there wouldn't have been any tour. Also our tourmates TORPEDO HOLIDAY - keep them in mind, they are brilliant and real cuties! Not to forget the youngbloods from ASLOV KINSKI. They made me feel and look really old, but it was so much fun to hang with these kids. Last but not least: TRAINWRECK. If you ever have the chance to see them play a show - Do it!!! One of the most incredible livebands around and real sweethearts!

Lately i got the chance to do draw a huge piece on a wall. The feather is done by me and the typo is done by Sascha Timplan. - It was part of an exhibiton by Kai Merker and took place inside the walls of a new dance club in Trier. Although it's name VILLA WULLER is pretty stupid, the club is done totally DIY style by close friends, who put so much more effort in it then you could ever imagine! I only can bow down for all the passion and effort everybody put in to it! The "Villa Wuller" will open it's doors next weekend, so go there and support it, if you come to Trier.

Als ich vorgestern auf einer Elektro-Party meinte ein Freund zu mir: „Alter, diese Party ist so 2008!“ Was das mit dieser Platte zu tun hat? Rein optisch ist sie das auch. Oder besser gesagt: Sie ist so 2000er – siehe das ganze Seemannsgarn des Artworks. Alles, was mit Schiffen zu tun hat, scheint in den letzten zehn Jahren in der Hardcore-Szene extrem beliebt geworden zu sein. Aber nein, ich möchte diese vier Bands keineswegs beschuldigen, nicht kreativ zu sein. Schließlich wurde sich mit der ganzen Aufmachung ja viel Mühe gegeben, und auch der Inhalt zeugt davon, dass sich auf diesem Stück Ten-Inch-Vinyl eine Menge musikalisches Potenzial tummelt – und zwar nicht nur in typischer Seefahrer-Hardcore-Manier, sondern mit kleinen, aber feinen Seitenhieben, die einen immer wieder mit der Erkenntnis überraschen, dass es in dieser Szene doch noch kreative Köpfe gibt, die in ihrer Schiffskantine nicht bloß gewohnte Erfolgsrezepte nachkochen. Da darf man sich dann auch mal einer ausgelutschten, aber hier endlich einmal passenden Seemetapher bedienen.

Vier Bands treffen sich auf einer campino-orangenen 10“ (einer von 125, die anderen 375 haben andere Farben), die schon optisch lecker anmutet. Süßer Zuckerkram ist der Inhalt allerdings nicht, eher so was wie ein Pfefferbonbon: Den Anfang machen die geschätzten Schweden GRACE.WILL.FALL, deren letztes Album auf Midsummer mit seinem an MODERN LIFE IS WAR erinnernden Hardcore ausgesprochen gut zu gefallen wusste.

Es folgen die Engländer LOWER THAN ATLANTIS (Album dieser Tage auf Redfield), die düster und druckvoll zur Sache gehen, aber auch eine gewisse Melodiösität aufweisen und mit „Far Q“ eine recht atmosphärische Stimmung erzeugen.

Guter Sänger – ich mag rauhe Stimmen. Auf der Flipside dann TALK RADIO TALK und MNMNTS. Erstere kommen aus Stade, und spätestens mit ihrem 2008er-Album auf Swell Creek sollte man sie wahrgenommen haben, sofern man auf melancholischen, verzweifelten, heiser gebrüllten Gesang und die dazu passende düstere, langsamere Version von Hardcore steht.

„This cave is for heroes“ ist ein neuer Song von 2009, und ich bin gespannt, was man von ihnen 2010 noch zu hören bekommt. Zum Schluss dann noch MNMNTS, die man schätzungsweise wohl „Monuments“ ausspricht und mächtig groovenden, pumpenden und doch auch melodiösen Hardcore mit einer ordentlich Alternative-Rock-Kante sowie – erkenne ich da eine rote Linie bei dieser 10“? – heiserem, verzweifeltem Gesang aufwartet.

Schöne Musik, schönes Format, schöne Farben, schönes Artwork.

Hier ein paar Bilder von dem Poster für die Converge Show. Zuerst haben Lewd Acts abgesagt, anschließend ist Converge der Van verreckt und auch sie mussten absagen. Der Druck kommt in einer Auflage von 77 und alle drei Farben haben einen metalischen Glanz. HEAVY METAL!

Zur Zeit befinden sich alle Prints in einer großen Kiste auf dem Weg von den USA nach Deutschland. ich drücke beide Daumen, das es beim Transport zu weniger Problem als bei der Tour kommt und sie heil und sicher ankommen. Dann werden die restlichen Exemplare hoffentlich bald zu erwerben sein!
